Physical activity is an essential component of weight management but it can also lower your risk of heart disease, diabetes, reduce cholesterol, alleviate arthritis pain, prevent or delay osteoporosis and relieve the symptons of anxiety and depression plus help you sleep better. 

Most adults should be doing a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise, at least 5 days a week. 

Exercising can help promote physiological wellbeing along with strengthening your immune system, enhances antioxidant activity, improves insulin sensitivity and combats obesity, maintain joint mobility and increases energy.

Staying physically active helps you keep your balance as you age, lack of exercise causes a loss of nerve sensitivity, muscle strength and reflex speed. As you get older your balancing skills become less dependable.

Types of Exercising:

Stretching-is the flossing of fitness, without it your muscles shorten and lose strength.

Aerobic-is any activity that makes your muscles use oxygen, your heart has to work harder to get more oxygen to your muscles. This makes your heart stronger, any activity that lasts longer than 30 minutes is considered aerobic. Such as biking, jogging, walking, swimming and basketball.

Weight Training-There are many ways to lose weight but weight training is best for preserving muscle mass while dieting. And we must engage in exercise that exerts weight on the bones. A good way to help restore calcium to the bones is with moderate load bearing exercise.

Make time for physical activity, it's easy to stay active when you make it part of your routine. A regular activity routine will help you stay focused on your goals and provide the structure you need for long lasting success.
